It is good news for Jaguar Land Rover as the brand announces plans to keep all plants and factories open during the shift to all-electric.

Jaguar Land Rover aiming to keep UK plants and factories open and shift to electric

Reported on Birmingham Live, the brand stated that despite plans to take Land Rover completely electric in the next few years, that it intended to keep all production sites open here in the UK.

The brand intends to go all-electric as early as 2030, and has plans to have zero emissions in the supply chain by 2039, a bold statement and move but one that is needed for the industry.

So, what does going electric mean, exactly?

Well, with the sale of new petrol and diesel cars set to be banned, it is a necessary move for manufacturers. Hybrid cars will still be in production and the sale of used cars will still be permitted, so they won’t be making any swift exists as far as we are concerned.

The first electric car was battery powered in the 1850s, so it is no shock that more manufacturers are returning to electric to fuel the vehicles. It was only due to the prices of oil falling and the need for quicker fuel times, that we shifted to the fuel we know today.

However, with modern technology and more than 30,000 charging points in the UK alone, it makes sense to move back to a more sustainable option. We know it won’t be a quick shift and the sale of used petrol and diesel cars will still be extremely popular, for many years to come.
