Fun things to do in the car

How can you keep entertained while driving? Here are some fun activities you can do in the car to pass the time, whether you're driving alone and bored or with the family on a long road trip.

Turn up the music
If you’re with the family you could have a sing along, or if you’re driving alone, listening to music can give you some company and help you avoid loneliness and boredom.
Having different playlists downloaded which include varying styles of music can also help to keep your energy levels and awareness up. Just make sure you’ve downloaded all your music in case you lose signal. 

Listen to a podcast
Whether you’re a sports fan, a true crime nerd or a fan of comedy, there are hundreds of podcasts out there for all types of interests.
Some of the most popular podcasts on Spotify right now include The Diary of a CEO, The Rest Is Politics, The News Agents and Huberman Lab.
If you’re travelling with your kids, some good podcasts for children include How to keep the kids entertained, Maddie’s Sound Explorers, and Story Quest.

Play a travel game
Playing games in the car can help keep you stimulated,alert and provide a bit of entertainment too. See how many number plates from different countries you can spot, or how many private number plates you can count, certain colours of car, or motorcycles. You can even make up an entirely new game if you want.

Ask some road trip questions 

If you’re travelling with friends or your partner and struggling for conversation, try starting a conversation with some of these questions:
-What is your favourite travel story or memory?

-What song must you absolutely get up and dance to?

-What place would you most like to visit in the world?
-What was your favourite ever holiday and why?

 Learn a language 
If your children are currently learning a language at school, you could go through what they’ve learned so far, or if you’re just starting to learn a new language, now would be a great use of time to practice. 

Listen to an audiobook 
Audiobooks can be a great way to pass the time and a fun activity to do while driving if you’re a lover of reading, and all without taking your eyes off the road.
If you’re a passenger, you can plug your headphones in and immerse yourself in the story.
